write to be remembered

Being a writer requires writing...

As an aspiring writer I am told (by my accomplished friend Jessie Humphrey's) I must write to the world and for the world.  I have pages and pages of journal entries filled with writing: inspired thoughts, random ideas, rants, one-liners and everything in between.  This blog is where I will share them with the world.

Last nights randomness is a mixed bag, but I will share it anyways.

Who am I?  I am a history major, with a family development minor and a six year certificate in religion...if you marry history & human development with religion you get philosophy.  I am a philosopher who dreams up the impossible and possesses the idealism to believe it is possible!

That is what writing is--my impossible dreams becoming possible.

A philosopher seeks deeper meaning and hidden truths in the lives of common man--him/herself.  There is a higher purpose to life and all its mundanities (yes I know that's not a real word, but it should be).

Writing inspires deeper quests into the imprisoned spirit which refuses to abide by the rules and conformity of society.  Characters escape the caverns of the mind and heart, refusing to be silenced without destroying that portion of the soul from which they escaped.

There are 3 purposes in writing:
      1-To share information
      2-To persuade
      3-To entertain
A great writer will succeed in all 3.

The difficulties in writing is that investing one's soul and philosophy into a character or story requires the release of your most hidden and personal thoughts and feelings--if rejected or over-criticised, deeper and more immense portions may never surface.

But to be unheard, unseen, and unaccomplished is death eternal.

The names remembered--the ones in the annuals of history--are those who accomplished AND wrote.
